But this English sentence did not even contain "very", ... yet was still used. What gives? The answer is: Chinese people love to use ... "very"! So much so, that when you choose between "shì" or "hěn", you ... invariably go with "hěn" --- ( 很 ), and when the English sentence contains ... no "very" (as the one above didn't and as most English sentences won't), ... you're still safe a good amount of the time to go with "hěn" instead of "shì". |
